Williams Troost-Ekong has stated that the Super Eagles are hungry and ready to redeem themselves when they face Sierra Leone next week.
Ekong played the entire duration of the game, as the Super Eagles drew 4-4 with the Leone Stars in the first meeting on Friday.
The three-time African champions allowed a four-goal lead to slip away at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, but Ekong said the shocking result had left the team hungrier ahead of the reversed match.
“It is our Naija spirit to win and succeed. Hungry and ready for redemption on Tuesday! ???? ?, “he posted on Twitter.
The Super Eagles will take a Group L points lead against Freetown on Tuesday after the Republic of Benin closed the gap with a win over Lesotho on Saturday.
