Former Super Eagles head coach and captain Sunday Oliseh paid tribute to the great soccer player Diego Maradona, who passed away on Wednesday.
Maradona reportedly died of cardiac arrest in his hometown in Argentina just days after undergoing an operating room after doctors discovered a blood clot in his brain.
His passing came as a great shock to the entire football community and Oliseh took to his social media account to pay tribute to the enigmatic midfielder.
“A sad day not only for football but for humanity, as we may lose the best player who ever played football. So how Diego’s death hurts me in a strange way, I can’t seem to understand right now. May his blessed soul rest in peace, ”he wrote.

Oliseh faced Maradona during the FIFA World Cup match between Nigeria and Argentina in 1994.
The former Argentine captain led his country to a 2 – 1 victory over Nigeria, he also orchestrated another victory for his coach at the 2010 World Cup, but this time as a manager.
