Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade is about to win her first club trophy after her Atlético de Madrid Femenino qualified for the final of the Spanish Super Cup.
Atlético defeated favorite FC Barcelona Femení in the semi-final on Wednesday.
The Madrid team achieved the famous victory in the penalty shoot-out after both teams drew 1-1 in regulation time and extra time.
Merel van Dongen put Atlético ahead in the 59th minute, but Alexia Putellas tied for Barcelona with just one minute in the 90s.
Reigning champions Barcelona managed to convert just one of the pitches launched from the point, while Atlético scored three to seal their place in the final.
Ajibade did not participate in the game although she was named as a substitute, while Oshoala was a substitute in the second half.
The new signing responded to Atlético de Madrid’s victory through social networks, expressing joy at reaching the final and also spared some praise for their teammates.
“In the end, great job ladies,” he wrote on Twitter.
