Paris Saint-Germain is set to close a 25 million euro deal to sign full-back Emerson Royal, who is currently owned by Barcelona.
The Brazilian is a regular at Real Betis since he switched to Spanish football in January 2019 and Diario Sport ensures that he is now a fundamental part of the Parisian sports project, led by Leonardo.
Emerson, 22, joined the Catalan club in January 2019 from Atlético Mineiro in a € 12.7 million deal in a complicated operation in which both the Blaugrana and Betis paid half of that sum each .
Both clubs are now co-owners of the right-back, but he has played exclusively for Betis since his arrival, with Barça’s option to sign him permanently for € 6 million starting in the summer of 2021.
However, the latest report suggests that the club is now hoping to capitalize on the player to ease their financial woes and allow them to reinvest in other areas of their squad.
Emerson has scored four goals in 56 first-team appearances for Betis and has won his first caps for Brazil.
