The newly appointed coach of the Nigerian women’s team, Randy Waldrum, has started to work behind the scenes as he hopes to fulfill his mandate of taking the Super Falcons to the next level.
Waldrum, who was hired as a replacement for Swedish coach Thomas Dennerby, who abruptly left his post after the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, has confirmed that he has held some virtual meetings with key Super Falcons players.
The American coach confirmed that he had an interesting time interacting with some of the Falcons players such as Asisat Oshoala, Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale and Ini Umotong via social media and is now eager to meet them.
“I had a great time meeting the players a few weeks ago! Can’t wait to get started on them! “The coach was quoted by the media.
The 64-year-old will work with former Falcons goalkeeper Ann Chiejine, who is the first assistant coach.
There were initial reports suggesting that the Super Falcons will be camping in Brazil later this month, as new Falcons coach Randy Waldrum hopes to resume his service with the record-breaking African champions.
