Man United Beat Burnley To Go On Top Of EPL Table For The 1st-Time Since 2012

Paul Pogba’s deflected shot saw Manchester United beat Burnley 1-0 on Tuesday night to reach the top of the Premier League for the first time since 2012/13 with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United dominated a match in which Burnley failed to register a single shot on goal until injury time, but they were struggling to make a breakthrough until Marcus Rashford took Pogba out with an excellent cross on the edge of the box.

The Frenchman’s connection was perfect, although it took a deflection from Matthew Lowton to ensure the ball passed over Nick Pope and into Burnley’s net.

Although Burnley had three decent chances in a frenzied finish, United secured the win to top the table after 17 rounds of matches.

An eight-year wait finally ended just in time for a visit to defending Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
