Lookman And Zambo Anguissa’s Impressive Stats As Fulham Hold Southampton

The African stars made great displays as the Cottagers recorded their fourth consecutive draw in the Premier League.

Anglo-Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman and Cameroonian midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa were in good shape when Fulham secured a goalless draw at home against Southampton on Boxing Day.

Lookman was a dominant force in the Cottagers’ attack and was involved in half of the 10 shots they took at Craven Cottage.

The former Everton striker had two attempts at goal and also created three more chances for his teammates but they couldn’t find the back of the net.

He has returned two goals and two assists in 12 Premier League appearances since returning to England on a one-season loan from RB Leipzig in September.

Zambo Anguissa was another African star who stood out in London, making defensive and offensive contributions in the middle of the park.

The Indomitable Lions midfielder won the most tackles at Craven Cottage (10), completed the most dribbles (six) and also had the most shots on target with Lookman (two).

The 25-year-old is currently ranked as the league’s second-best tackler this season with 47 complete tackles, four behind Southampton’s Oriol Romeu.

Saturday’s result saw back-to-back draws for Fulham at home and their fourth consecutive draw in the Premier League.

Zambo Anguissa was in action the entire time alongside Ola Aina from Nigeria and Tosin Adarabioyo, while Lookman was replaced full time by Neeskens Kebano from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Southampton, on the other hand, had Mali’s Moussa Djenepo in action, but Ghana’s Mohammed Salisu was an unused substitute as he continues to await his debut since his summer signing from Real Valladolid.

Fulham remains 18th in the Premier League table with 11 points from 15 games, while Southampton fell to eighth with 25 points.

Next up for Scott Parker’s team is a trip to Tottenham Hotspur on December 30 and they will be aiming for their first Premier League win since defeating Leicester City 2-1 a month ago.
