Leicester boss sure of Europa League knockout ticket

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers was disappointed that he failed to score all three points against Arsenal on Tuesday.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is delighted to be in the knockout stage of the Europa League.

Last night’s 3-3 draw with Braga guarantees Leicester will qualify from their group.

Rodgers said: “In the first half we were too slow in our movements, too static and we weren’t aggressive enough. I thought Braga was better than us in the first half.

“Our challenge in the second half was to make sure we didn’t lose the game and to do everything possible to win it. Could we show our spirit and mindset? And in the second part we were outstanding.

“It’s great to qualify. That was the goal at the beginning and now the next ambition is to go ahead and win the group ”.
