Real Sociedad advanced a three-point lead to the top of La Liga on Sunday after Alexander Isak’s goal made the difference in a 1-0 win over Cádiz.

Isak headed a cross from Adnan Januzaj shortly after the hour at the Ramón Carranza to secure La Real’s sixth straight league win.

An excellent start to the season shows no signs of abating, with Imanol Alguacil’s team now within three points of second-placed Atlético de Madrid, although they have played two more games.

They have scored an impressive 21 goals in their first 10 games, the highest tally in the league, and only conceded four.

After traveling to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday, Real Sociedad play at home to Villarreal, who are in third place and the other big surprise player in the league.

The defeat means that Cádiz is in sixth place, just above Sevilla after a strong start for the newly promoted team. Getafe was previously limited to a goalless draw against Eibar.
