Nigeria’s representatives at this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, Kano Pillars, have arrived at Dakar for the first leg of the preliminary round with Senegal’s Jaraaf FC.
The contingent of 20 players, technical team, back room staff and some members of the management arrived at the Dakar this afternoon and are staying at the Bien Venue Hotel Bougain.
Pillars left the city of Kano this morning on a chartered flight from Aminu Kano International Airport.
The match to be held on Saturday in the city of Dakar is the first meeting between the two clubs.
Kano Pillars qualified to represent Nigeria in the CAF second division club competition as the Aiteo Cup champions they won in 2019.
Though more gifted than their hosts, Pillars’ away form in recent continental matchups has been less than convincing, demanding cautious optimism from their many fans.
