Memphis Depay has been on Barcelona’s agenda for some time. Lyon will reportedly let him leave in January for around five million euros, but ‘Tuttosport’ reports that Barça will face stiff competition for the attacker: Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus.
Depay’s contract in Lyon expires in June 2021. The club has one last chance to cash in on its sale as it would go free in the summer.
So the French team is willing to let him go for five million euros. A very low price that has made Barça not the only one who pursues him.
Juventus, says ‘Tuttosport’, would also like the forward. According to the Italian media, Pirlo’s team is willing to make a firm offer for the Lyon player.
The ‘bianconeri’ are looking for a striker and this source assures that they have two players in mind: Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli and Memphis Depay.
Milik is in the same contractual situation as Depay. It remains to be seen, therefore, which of the two goes for Juventus.
Lyon coach Rudi García is confident of having Depay until June 2021, but that seems very, very difficult.
