Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen continued his road to recovery from a shoulder injury when he arrived at the gym on Wednesday after treatment, according to SportingLife.
The former Lille star returned to Naples with a shoulder injury after representing Nigeria in the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tie against Sierra Leone.
Napoli missed Osimhen last Sunday when they suffered a 3-1 loss to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-inspired AC Milan at Stadio San Paolo and will face Rijeka on Thursday on Europa League matchday 4 without the Nigerian who arrived from Ligue 1 for a club record rate.
According to the club’s official website ahead of Napoli’s Europa League clash: “The team started with an initial warm-up before heading to Pitch 1, where the players concentrated on passing and possession drills. The session closed with a mini-match.
“Victor Osimhen received treatment and trained in the gym and outdoors, while David Ospina had a gym session.”
Napoli are currently second in Group F of the Europa League with six points, while Rijeka is last with no points recorded so far.
