Flying Eagles Thrash NPFL Side In Friendly

The Flying Eagles continued their preparation for WAFU B 2020 with a close 4-2 win over Nasarawa United of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) at the FIFA Goal Project field in Abuja.

A double from center-back Chris Nweze and goals from Azeez Oseni and Wisdom Ubani ensured the team carried the victory to six of the same number of games.

Nasarawa United coach Bala Nkiyu used the game to test his new recruits Nanen Imenger and Austin Ayaya, but it was the Flying Eagles who made the first race.

Chris Nweze gave the Flying Eagles the lead in the third minute when he headed home from a Mike Zaruma corner kick.

Nasawara responded and got properly level after some beautiful midfield work that set up Abdullahi Aliyu to hit Kolawale Ridwan off the Flying Eagles’ post in the 17th minute.

Azeez Oseni regained the Flying Eagles lead with a beautiful shot, but the lead lasted only ten minutes as Silas Nwankwo used a bit of defense to equalize for Nasarawa.

Chris Nweze got his double from the spot in the 30th minute after the electric Wisdom Ubani flipped into the area. Ubani capped off a wonderful performance with Flying Eagles fourth on the night in the 56th minute, as the Flying Eagles remain undefeated in six test games thus far.
