Nigerian international Osinachi Ohale scored her first goal for AS Roma by defeating Tavagnacco 5-0 in the Italian Women’s Cup match on Saturday.

After an impressive spell at Spanish Real Madrid, where he scored two goals in 15 games, Vaxjo’s former defender completed his move to Stadio Tre Fontane this summer.

Ohale, who made his debut for Elizabetta Bavagnoli’s team in a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona on October 3, finally scored his first goal for Italy in his third appearance in all competitions.

The 28-year-old opened the scoring for the Giallorosse in this year’s competition at 19 minutes into the match at the Comunale di Tavagnacco.

Four minutes later, Andrine Hegerberg finished off a fantastic attack to double the visitors’ lead before Manuela Giugliano scored three for the visitors in the 29th minute of the first half.

After the break, Agnese Bonfantini scored a quarter of the match for AS Roma in her 50th outing in the 64th minute before Emma Severini also bagged her first goal for the club upon death.

The victory gave AS Roma a winning start to the free-for-all group stage and topped Group H with two superior goals.

They will have to do their best to beat city rivals and Second Division Roma to reach the quarterfinals of the competition.

Having returned to the winning track, Bavagnoli’s team will hope to build on their new momentum when they return from the international break against Florentia on 12 December.
