
The first edition of the Delta Football presentation will take place on Wednesday, November 25 in Asaba, the capital of the state of Delta.
Comrade Kenneth Nwaomucha, chairman of the Delta State Football Association (DFA) board of directors, organizer of the summit, made this public in a statement issued after the board’s Executive Committee meeting in Asaba.
Among the dignitaries expected to honor the occasion are Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Lieutenant Governor Kingsley Otuaro and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Sheriff Oborevwori. Also included are the president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick and the president of the Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tony Okowa.
According to the statement provided by Aloy Okereke, Nwaomucha’s media assistant, “Everyone with an interest in soccer, including former FA presidents, club owners and local soccer council presidents, will be part of the Summit, to be held on November 25 at the Hotel and Suites Holiday Village, in Mariam Babangida Way, Asaba, with the theme ‘Soccer as a tool for peacebuilding and economic empowerment’ ”.
He said the summit will kick off at 11am promptly, adding that “The summit will also hold an interactive session on life outside of football to see how those involved in the game can live fruitful lives outside of football.”
