Chelsea boss gives update on Christian Pulisic’s injury ahead of London derby

Frank Lampard has set his sights on crowning an impressive first season as Chelsea manager by leading the Blues to FA Cup glory against Arsenal on Saturday.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reported on Christian Pulisic’s injury ahead of the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The attacker is yet to play in Chelsea’s last five games and is in line to play Spurs on Sunday when José Mourinho’s men arrive at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

“Christian Pulisic is back in shape this weekend. I have competence in that area.

“So it’s not as straightforward as if Callum had no minutes in a period, that means it’s out of my favor. It certainly isn’t.

“But he is still a developing player, up to a point. The quality it shows with the first two touches it showed before shooting. [against Rennes] It’s first class, I know it can do that.

“And he came out of a really bad injury not long ago when he was a young player. There are a lot of good things about Callum and there are things he can improve in his game and he knows it.

“He is a great Chelsea player, he has a great future with us. I am delighted for him. His complete game today, with and without the ball, was fantastic and he scored his goal ”.

The American star has played just three Premier League matches so far against Crystal Palace, Southampton and Manchester United and his only goal in the 2020-21 campaign was a 3-0 win over Russian FC Krasnodar in the Champions League.
