The president of the Nigerian Women’s Soccer League, Aisha Falode, has stated that the board of directors is committed to the ten serious clubs that met their registration requirements before the new season.
Speaking to reporters, Falode stated that the NWFL is not looking for a crowd that does not comply with the rules, but a few that are serious about doing what they (the board) told them to do.
“The level of compliance we are very happy as we speak now, ten clubs have met it and we are very happy with that.”
“If there are ten who are ready to play women’s football, we will run with ten, it is no longer about numbers, but about quality, it is about what you give back.”
“Football is not a charity, if you can’t finance it, you don’t have to be in it, so if the ten are ready, in fact the deadline has passed, but some are begging, give us three more days and we don’t. I don’t want to be hard on them.
“We are going to allow them, but if we do not achieve the necessary compliance, we will run with the ten; we draw another tie with the ten who have met and we will start the league according to the stipulated date ”. she said.
