This reporter has shared the details of Nnamdi Kanu and Uche Mefor War that caused a big crash in IPOB.
Nigeria online news understands that there has been a huge rift within the Biafra Indigenous People, as the deputy leader, Uche Mefor, got into a fight with his boss, Nnamdi Kanu and launched a new radio station called Biafra Human Rights and Freedom Radio (BHRFR).
This online news outlet understands that, apart from the name of the radio station, which hints at a divergence of paths within the group, Mefor had previously shown signs of a rift when it removed its Facebook page in August.
According to Naija News reports cited by Pmnews Nigeria, Mefor fell out with Kanu because he was not comfortable with the idea of his former leader constantly claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari is dead and that he has since been replaced by a Jubril Al Sudanni from Sudan. . .
Not only has that rumor been in the public domain for a long time, but it has also fueled wild speculation about the identity of the president and been the subject of gossip.
Kanu, for his part, had said in the past that Mefor had warned him not to spread that rumor and fly a kite.
“I keep saying this every time, my deputy, Uche Mefor, will say don’t say it, don’t say Buhari is dead,” Kanu said in a broadcast on Radio Biafra in February.
Mefor had also called for a change in approach and attitude among IPOB members, but their appeals fell on deaf ears and resulted in verbal assaults by members of the group. The separate IPOB deputy also claimed to have engaged their leader in a war of words over some disagreements.
This is not surprising as the IPOB leader has been accused of being dictatorial, arrogant and fraudulent by some of his former allies. The IPOB leader is believed to run the organization for financial gain and not in the interest of the people.
Mefor has also said in a video currently circulating that he had been banned from broadcasting on Radio Biafra and that Kanu and those working with him had effectively left him out of doing things he had been doing before. Mefor also hinted at the float of another radio station in addition to Radio Biafra without their knowledge. He was also asked to hand over the Radia Biafa registration details to an Ofomma. He questioned why the IPOB leader should float another radio station and prevented him from broadcasting on Radio Biafra.
“Several of our people know that there have been a problem or two from time to time. But now it has reached the zenith of it all, ”Mefor said.
And I came to a conclusion. And I said, when all this back and forth was happening, that for the sake of those who died in this fight, I would leave office. And then I gave him the details of Radio Biafra.
“If I am an MP for Nnamdi Kanu, why shouldn’t I know that another radio station is opening? … For me this is a humiliation of the highest level. This is an insult because when you talk about the Internet / online aspect of Radio Biafra, you cannot write that story, you cannot finish it without talking about me. I worked for this for almost a year.
“They have blackmailed me. They have humiliated me in many ways, ”Mefor said, adding that he had been portrayed as evil.
However, although Mefor is believed to have resigned as the leader of the IPOB, sources very close to Kanu said that the IPOB leader secretly fired him because he could not condone his authoritarian nature.
This, according to Naija News, was done in secret to avoid raising the eyebrows unnecessarily.
Yet another source said that Mefor made the decision to close its Facebook page and remain incommunicado for security reasons.
Still, Mefor was cited for saying in a report that Nnamdi Kanu crossed the red line after disgracing his former African representative, George Onyibe.
“What will happen to Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB in a short time will be shocking. Any ear that hears it will tingle, ”said the ally.
