Details have emerged of what Wike told Buhari about setting Nigeria ablaze.
Nigeria online news reports that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the demands of the people or set Nigeria ablaze.
This online news outlet understands that Wike’s advice came just 48 hours after he organized a South-South meeting of governors and a presidential team in Port Harcourt, led by Professor Ibrahim Gambari, President Buhari’s chief of staff..
At the meeting, the governors demanded the restructuring of Nigeria and also the relocation of the oil companies from Lagos to the Niger Delta.
The generally fickle and forthright governor spoke again today on a Channels TV show Sunrise Daily.
“We must understand in this country that political leadership is key,” Wike said.
“Having the political will to implement what the people want is very serious.
“I do not want to talk about the issue of mistrust or lack of confidence in the government.
“People have raised such questions, they don’t think anything will come out of all this dialogue.
“I do not agree with that. I think if the president does not, given the opportunities he has now, he will be setting Nigeria on fire. “
