Two men identified as Adekunle Osho, 31, and Chinedu Ugwu, 34, have been sentenced to death by hanging by the Ekiti State High Court after being convicted of armed robbery.
The two robbers who were sentenced on Tuesday, November 24, were allegedly involved in an armed robbery and were also linked to a stolen vehicle.
They were convicted of stealing from Chief Ojo Gbenga his Toyota Camry car and N150,000 in cash on or around November 14, 2014 in Oke Ila, Tinuola area of Ado Ekiti. It was alleged that the men who blocked their victim with their own car on his way home shot him in the leg.
In issuing the ruling, Judge Adekunle Adeleye said;
“The defendants are guilty of the charges and are hereby sentenced to death by hanging.”
