Two die in Osun auto crash

The Nigerian Police say their investigation shows that Boko Haram, Ansaru and other terrorist groups are receiving support from some Nigerians.

Two people were confirmed dead on Saturday in a fatal car accident along the Iwo-Ibadan highway in the Iwo local government area of ​​Osun state.

The incident involving a Lexus ES 300 with registration number AKD664GF and a Bajaj motorcycle occurred around 10:15 am.

An eyewitness, Akeem Alimi told reporters that the motorcycle had a frontal collision with the vehicle coming from the opposite side, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist and his passenger.

Confirming the incidents, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun Sector Command spokeswoman Agnes Ogungbemi said the accident was the result of speeding and dangerous driving.

She corroborated that the vehicle and the motorcycle suffered a frontal collision that caused the death of two people, while two others suffered injuries of varying degrees.

He added that the injured victims were taken to Iwo General Hospital for treatment, while the bodies were also deposited in the hospital morgue.

“Two people lost their lives as a result of the fatal accident, a man and a woman, while two others were injured. The incident was possibly caused by dangerous driving and speeding.

“A woman’s bag containing two phones, a national ID and the sum of N1,500 and was delivered to the Nigerian Police Motor Traffic Division in Iwo,” he said.
