Robot That Can Detect Coronavirus And Enforce Face Mask Rules Undergoes Trials (Photos)

The mechanical nurse, nicknamed Cira-03, can take the temperature of those suffering from Covid-19 and even perform blood tests.

A human-faced robot has been introduced that can detect coronavirus.

The human-like robot that can test for coronavirus and scold patients for not wearing a face mask is being tested in hospitals.

The mechanical nurse, nicknamed Cira-03, can take the temperature of those suffering from Covid-19 and even perform blood tests.

With a human face and robotic arms, the mechanical creation is being tested in a private hospital in Cairo, Egypt, as the African county faces a second wave.

Built by an Egyptian inventor, the robot can also perform echocardiograms, X-rays, and display the results to patients on a screen installed on their chest.

The bot was designed to look as realistic as possible to prevent patients from being scared, according to inventor Mahmoud El Komy.

The Komy said that Cira-03 will help limit exposure to infection and prevent transmission.

He said: “I tried to make the robot look more human so that the patient doesn’t fear it. So they don’t feel like a box is approaching them.

“There has been a positive response from patients.

“They saw the robot and were not afraid. On the contrary, there is more confidence in this because the robot is more precise than humans ”.

The remote control robot runs through the hospital on wheels.

The trial comes as Egyptian authorities confirm that the country faces a second spike in coronavirus cases.

In all, Egypt has seen 113,027 cases of the disease, with 6,548 deaths.
