Six people were killed in an accident along the Lagos-Ibadan highway on Saturday.
The Federal Highway Traffic Safety Corps (FRSC) has said another person was injured in the accident involving a truck and a Honda Pilot Jeep.
According to the FRSC, the accident occurred around the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan highway.
FRSC Ogun Sector Commander Ahmed Umar confirmed that the incident occurred around 7 am.
According to him, the road accident was caused by speeding and loss of control by the driver of the jeep.
The sector commander explained that eight men and one woman were involved in the accident and said that five men died along with the only woman.
Umar added that the Honda Pilot marked LSR 525 FY was in excessive speed as it lost control, thus colliding with the moving truck labeled KRV 716 ZV.
