John Mahama Could Have Release Soldiers After He Lost 2016 Polls But He Chose Peace

The opposition Democratic National Congress NDC has stated that former President John Mahama may have released soldiers on Ghanaians when he lost the 2016 elections.

Ashanti Regional Communications Officer Abass Nurudeen said Mahama chose peace over violence and admitted defeat after President Akufo Addo was declared the winner.

In an interview on Okay FM, he emphasized that John Mahama had the opportunity to unleash the military on the citizenry and impose a curfew just to stay in power, but he considered the peace of the country in which Akufo Addo was able to swear.

However, Abass Nurudeen asked why Akufo Addo unleashed the army against people with guns pointed at the EC district officers to change the results.
