Nigerian Military Kills Deadly Bandits Linked to Ansaru Terrorist Group Hiding In Katsina Forest

17 bandits linked to the terrorist group Ansaru have been killed in an airstrike.

This air strike was carried out by the Operation Hadarin Daji Air Component, which also destroyed the bandits’ camp in the Dunya forest area of ​​Katsina State.

Coordinator, Defense Media Operations, Major General. John Enenche made it known in a statement on Friday.

He said the airstrikes were carried out on Thursday following credible intelligence on the presence of the elements.

The spokesperson noted that intelligence and surveillance missions revealed that dozens of bandits linked to the Ansaru terrorist group had established a camp at the site.

They also kept dozens of whispered cattle in the forest.

Enenche revealed that Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships were dispatched and engaged the bandits.

The airstrikes destroyed parts of the camp, including its storage facility, which was engulfed in flames.

“Human intelligence sources later confirmed that no less than 17 bandits were neutralized and several others were injured,” the statement added.

The Military High Command praised the troops and other security agencies operating in the northwest and urged them to remain determined in order to eradicate all armed bandits.
