The Kwara state government has submitted letters of appointment for traditional first, second and fourth class rulers.
According to a press release signed by Oba Azeez, press secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Headquarters Affairs and Community Development, the official presentation followed the approval of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq after its ratification by the Council of Heads of State of Kwara.
The three newly appointed Royal Fathers are His Royal Highness, Oba Haruna Olawale Suleiman (1st class) as Oluopako from Share in the local government area of Ifelodun, His Royal Highness Oba pharmacist Ajibola Ademola Julius (2nd class) as Olusin from Ijara-Isin in Isin Local Government Area and His Royal Highness Oba Alhaji Mohammed Akande Olarewaju Odunade (4th class) as Onilupeju from Ilupeju in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
“The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who was represented by the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government, Headquarters Affairs and Community Development Aliyu Mohammed Saifudeen, said that the event has once again demonstrated the administration’s respect for traditional institutions “, the statement said.
AbdulRazaq urged traditional rulers to continue leading their people in the performance of their responsibilities to their communities and to support the political initiatives of the state government in their domains.
