Major cereal brand Kellogg’s has announced that it has begun accepting entries for the second edition of its flagship children’s scholarship program, the “Kellogg’s Superstars Contest”.
Kellogg’s Superstars Contest is an essay writing contest designed for children ages five to twelve to hone their writing skills and creativity.
The winners of the contest will receive a cash prize to support their education.
The first edition of the scheme began in March 2019 as an offline essay contest, reaching 1.8 million students in approximately 12,000 schools in Rivers, Lagos, and Oyo State.
In the end, 50 students were the winners and received 150,000 naira each, which equates to five million naira in scholarships.
Speaking further in a statement, Kellogg’s Marketing Manager Mr. Darlington Igabali stated that this year’s contest takes on a different dimension as it is supported online by
https: // kelloggsnigeria .ng / and will cover the entire nation.
“Entries were declared open a couple of months ago with the task of writing a short and concise essay of no more than 100 words on the topic“ Why my mom is a super mom ”, then following the rest of the guidelines. This will see a hundred outstanding children emerge as winners to receive a scholarship worth N100,000 each.
“The theme for this issue was carefully crafted because the Kellogg’s brand recognizes the value and contribution of mothers to the growth of society that can never be overstated. On the other hand, exercise tends to further strengthen the bond between the child and the mother, ”he said.
Also speaking, the Public Relations Manager of the Tolaram Group, Mrs. Omotayo Abiodun, affirmed that the initiative was born from the brand’s commitment to support education in the country.
“We believe that by encouraging students at a very young age through scholarship offerings, you are literally paving a smoother path to a brighter tomorrow. Currently, entries are received through the brand’s website and social media platforms. “
Abiodun also reported that the organization will stop accepting entries before December 5, after which the judges will sit down to deliberate on the top 100 entries.
He added that the winners will be announced on December 24.
