Jonathan has spoken about the 2023 presidential fight under APC after meeting with opposition governors.
Nigeria online news reports that former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that his meeting with the leadership of the Congress of All Progressives (APC) was not political.
The former president, who received APC governors at his home in Abuja, denied allegations that the APC governors’ visit was to persuade him to join the party before the 2023 presidential elections.
Making this disclosure in a statement by Ikechukwu Eze, his personal media assistant, former President Jonathan, who dismissed the rumor, revealed that he had no intention of joining the ruling APC or participating in the 2023 presidential elections.

The former president said that the APC governors’ visit was to celebrate it and not for any political party issue.
“PDP governors also visited him; It wasn’t just the APC governors. Governor Bala Muhammad was there. They visited him as a father and statesman to celebrate with him; it was not a matter of political parties.
“Everything you hear about 2023 is a rumor and we don’t have time to respond to rumors; the former president is a very busy person to be listening to rumors, ”the statement read.

Leading the APC governors on the visit to the former president’s home in Abuja were the chairman of the APC Vigilance Committee and the governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni.
