Ex-president excited by everyone’s demonstration of love
Former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan told her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan, on Friday on his 63rd birthday that if given the chance, she would marry him over and over again, because he’s been a good man.
This is how the celebrant, Goodluck Jonathan, was touched by the show of love from the governors, some of his former aides, family and friends, who visited him and stayed late into the day.
Presenting her husband with a personalized birthday card, from where she read, the former First Lady said, “My husband, my hero, my king, the father of my children, I thank almighty God for choosing him to be my life partner.
“Not only are you the most loving husband a woman could wish for, but you are also my best friend. On this special birthday, I want to tell you how much I appreciate you in my life. It has been a blessing to make this journey of life with you.
“If I had to do it again my love, I would choose you to be my husband over and over again. You are the best. To me, you mean the whole world and I love you more than words could express. God bless you always. Happy Birthday.”
However, while responding to messages of goodwill, Jonathan thanked the visitors for honoring him and praised his wife and other family members for organizing the private gathering and most especially for their prayers.
“This (Friday) morning, I came down around 6:00 am and saw people who were already sitting and waiting to pray for me to mark the day. That means those people must have woken up from their homes before 5:30 am in order to get to my house this early.
“And from that time until this (Friday) night, we have been receiving visitors. I want to sincerely thank my wife, who has put this together, and thank everyone for coming here without any newspaper announcements or any kind of text message inviting guests, ”said President Jonathan.
The guests, which included his former aides as well as former acting governors of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling Congress of All Progressives (APC), prayed for him and thanked him for the good things he has continued to do to promote peace. and the image of the country since he left office.
A former Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, speaking at the meeting, described Jonathan as an invaluable boss and a great asset to Nigeria.
The other guests included Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed; Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni; Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu; The Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi.
The event was also honored by a former Senate president; the former Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Idi Hong; the former Minister of Health, who oversaw the fight against Ebola in Nigeria, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu; former Minister of State for Solid Minerals and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke.
