Details have emerged of how a 55-year-old man was caught with four human skulls, Three Hands In Ogun.
Nigeria online news reports that the Ogun State Police Command arrested a 55-year-old man, Yesiru Salisu, on Tuesday for possessing human parts, including four skulls, two hands and three jaws, in Ijebu-Igbo.
This online news outlet learned that the suspect allegedly severed human parts from a Christian cemetery in Oke-Eri, Ijebu-Ode, on Monday along with his accomplice, Lekan Bakare, who is a fugitive.
State police public relations officer DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi revealed this on Tuesday.
According to Oyeyemi, the suspect, who resides at 7 Odenusi Street, Ijebu-Igbo, was arrested on Monday.
The PPRO added that the suspect was arrested following a report filed with the Ago-Iwoye Division in the Ijebu-North Local Government Area of the state.
It added that the author reported that a man was seen with a bag suspected of containing stolen goods and when challenged, he dropped the bag and ran into the bush.
The statement read: “On the report, Ago-Iwoye DPO, CSP Paul Omiwole, took detectives to the scene, where they opened the bag and found it contained dried human parts.
“Consequently, the bush the suspect came across was properly combed and he was subsequently arrested.
“On questioning, the suspect confessed to harvesting the human parts from a Christian cemetery in Oke-Eri, Ijebu-Ode, along with Lekan Bakare, who is now at large.”
The PPRO said Police Commissioner Edward Ajogun had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the state Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence for further investigation and prosecution.
Oyeyemi added that the PC also ordered that the fleeing accomplice be hunted down and brought to justice.
