Househelp Kills His Former Employer In Nasarawa (Photos)

The Nasarawa State Police arrested a 27-year-old Cephas Iliya ‘m’ from the state of Kaduna for killing a Martins Omeri, a deputy chief auditor in the Federation’s Accountant General’s office, Abuja, but residing on the property of the Marina Karshi, Karu LGA from Nasarawa State.

On November 24, 2020, at approximately 11:45 a.m., police personnel attached to the Karshi Division acted with credible intelligence and arrested the suspect in the Arab area, FCT Abuja. A coordinated and diligent search was conducted in his apartment where the following items belonging to the deceased were recovered as evidence: an Infinix phone, laptop, clothing, pair of shoes, clipper, bedding, and some other property.

The suspect confessed that he sneaked into the house of the deceased in the early morning of November 17, 2020 while he was sleeping and killed him with a wooden log while his body was discovered on November 19, 2020.

The Police Commissioner, CP Bola Longe psc (+) has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Investigation and Criminalistics Department, Lafia, for an exhaustive investigation, after which the suspect will be processed in the Court of Justice.

Finally, the Police Commissioner urges members of the public to carefully screen and meet the families of the individuals they intend to employ as domestic helpers before doing so.
