Over the weekend, gunmen killed an Agana engineer in the Andoni de Rivers local government area, Michael Ebirien-Agana.

It was deduced that the assailants ambushed Ebirien-Agana in a bad location along the Igbo-Etche highway as he was on his way home between 8:30 pm and 9:00 pm.

The thugs reportedly dragged him out of his car, shot him, and drove away, leaving him in their pool of blood.

It is said that a good Samaritan rushed him to a hospital where his death was confirmed.

A source, speaking in confidence, said: “There is a place that is bad and generally flooded along the Igbo-Etche highway. That was where they killed him. They shot him without taking anything out of his car. They just went for his life. Maybe they are murderers.

“He was an engineer and a promising young man. Michael was a gentleman, very humble. He was one of those we were looking for for leadership in the local government of Andoni. It’s a shame that his life has been shot to death. “

The source said that the late Ebirien-Agana, was a local government employee from Andoni, before being transferred to the Emuoha council, adding that his remains had been deposited in the morgue of the Military Hospital in Port Harcourt.

When contacted, the spokesman for the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident.

He said: “Yes, they killed him. He was rushed to the military hospital where he finally died. The investigation is underway to determine what happened.

“In addition, all hands are on deck to ensure the arrest of his murderers and make sure they are brought to the book.”
