Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has used his verified Twitter account to share photos of when he received the talented Ikorodu Bois in his office. The comedy group paid the governor a courtesy call.
In his post, the governor mentioned that the creativity of young people put them and Ikorodu on the world map.
The Governor tweeted: “Today, I welcomed generational film talent @IkoroduB, whose creativity has put them and Ikorodu on the global map of international platforms like Netflix, earned them a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards nomination and put their faces on on billboards. in Times Square, New York.
“As a state, we are proud of them and thank you for visiting me today. We are committed to developing creative talent in Lagos as we continue to serve as the premier destination for the generation of musical, artistic and creative talents in Africa ”.
The comic group is made up of Muiz Sanni (15), Malik Sanni (10) and Fawas (13). They are known for remaking, mimicking, and recreating multi-million dollar music videos, movie scenes, and movie trailers using common household items.
They seem to be on a roll this year, as a few days ago popular American talk show host Steve Harvey took to his verified Twitter account with approximately 4.2 million followers to acclaim the Nigerian internet sensation.
The iconic American artist gave the boys the go-ahead by posting on his Twitter a video of one of the young men standing in front of a television while imitating one of his messages, which was delivered on his Motivation program.
Hollywood director Zack Snyder had a virtual video in which he let it be known that he loves Ikorodu Bois’ remake of his movie trailer, Army of the Dead.
Last year, Ikorodu Bois caught the attention of the film’s producers, Russo Brothers, following the remake of the film’s trailer, Extraction.
After seeing their remake, in a tweet, the Russo brothers expressed their enthusiasm for the remake and invited the trio to the world premiere of the Netflix action movie sequel.
Additionally, Netflix, a US streaming giant and media service, recruited Ikorodu Bois for its campaign to commemorate this year’s Oscars.
Additionally, the parody creators were nominated for the Favorite African Social Media Star category at Nickelodeon’s 2021 Kids’ Choice Awards. However, they lost to Nigerian comedian Emmanuella.
