Edo election: Comrade Shaibu warns Adams Oshiomhole not to subvert the people’s will

Edo Lieutenant Governor Comrade Philip Shaibu said on Sunday that he has no problems with the former national president of the Congress of All Progressives (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, acknowledging that he taught him all that he has accomplished in politics.

Edo State Lieutenant Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has urged former state governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole not to subvert the will of the people and to scrap the plan to overturn Governor Godwin Obaseki’s victory in the September elections. 2020 for governor through the judiciary.

Shaibu, during an empowerment program for Afemai youth in Ogbona and Jattu, respectively, over the weekend, reaffirmed trust in the judiciary and President Muhammadu Buhari to protect the nation’s democracy and the collective will of the Edo people.

The lieutenant governor said Oshiomhole was instrumental in Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma’s victory in the Supreme Court and said he is willing to do the same to enhance Obaseki’s popular victory in Edo State.

He said: “The Nigerian Judiciary is known to be among the best in the world, therefore Oshiomhole’s expression is a simple cry of a beaten baby and you should be aware that Edo is not Imo State.

Now that he has vowed to test the collective will of the good people of Edo State by attempting to subvert their will through a questionable court arrangement, it will obviously not be tolerated by the administrators of our judiciary.

“Governor Godwin Obaseki’s victory is a victory for Nigerian democracy and it was the first election in Nigeria where all political parties came together to vote for a candidate for the general development of the state.

“The good people of Edo State must resist Oshiomhole’s desirability of creating tension to destabilize the state and make it ungovernable.”
