Men from the Bayelsa State Police Command have recovered the mutilated corpse of a woman who is suspected of being murdered for ritual purposes.
The female corpse yet to be identified was found at the School to Land Project, Edepie, Yenagoa on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at approximately 08:30 am.
Command spokesman Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, said the woman’s vital organs were missing.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that vital organs such as eyes, ears, nose and tongue were allegedly removed for ritual purposes”
The body has been removed and deposited in the morgue of the Federal Medical Center for the autopsy.
“Bayelsa State Command Police Commissioner CP Mike Okoli has ordered detectives to fish for the culprits. And the investigation is ongoing. “
