Court orders IGP prosecute Eunisell chief, others for ‘forgery’

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu said on Tuesday that 1,590 suspects have been arrested across the country in connection with the #EndSars protest that turned violent after it was abducted by thugs.

Abuja-based Federal High Court Judge Taiwo Taiwo ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu to prosecute Re Care and Eunisell Limited Group Managing Director Chika Ikenga and one Suraj Yakubu for alleged crimes of falsification, false information and identity theft.

Others affected by the mandamus order are DIG Michael Anthony Ogbizi (FCID) and DCP Augustine Sanomi (CP Legal).

Specifically, the court compelled the IGP to re-file the charge and prosecute the defendants for the crimes mentioned in the charge marked CR / 361/18 between IGP and Chika Ikenga, Suraj Yakubu and Eunisell Chemicals Limited, which was filed on 5 October. , 2018 and withdrawn on February 26, 2019.

In addition, Judge Taiwo ordered the IGP to resubmit the charge and prosecute the defendants within 14 days of receipt of the search warrant.
