Burna Boy, Rema, and Simi led the group of eight award-winning Nigerian artists at the AFRIMMA 2020 Edition.
Nigeria online news reports that with the theme of the seventh edition being ‘Destination Africa’, the virtual event had the sensation of South Africa, Master KG emerged as the biggest winner of the night, obtaining the Artist of the Year Award, Song of the Year, Best African Man Austral as well as Best Collaboration with Burna Boy on the remix of Jerusalema.
Rema won the Best Male Performance award in West Africa, while Simi won the female version of the same award. Umu Ibiligbo won the award for best African group, while Mercy Chinwo won the award for best gospel act, Flavor won the best live act, TG Omori won the award for best video director, Poco Lee won the award for best dancer African while Burna Boy took the award for best collaboration and Crossing Borders with musical award.
Hosted by Tashara Parker on AFRIMMA’s YouTube with performances by Rema featuring an eclectic performance, Soraia Ramos, Fally Ipupa, Poco Lee, Gaz Mawete, Eddy Kenzo, Nadia Nakai and Master KG.
