A former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has questioned the physical and mental health of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He has now called for a full assessment of Buhari’s physical and mental state by an independent panel.
Ezekweili demanded that a medical panel be established to evaluate the president, adding that Nigeria’s condition has become too dire for citizens to stand still.
The former minister said this on her official Twitter page, noting that the House of Representatives doctor cannot be trusted, hence the need for an independent panel.
Their posts read: “I believe that at this stage and depth of fragility in the state of Nigeria, privacy has to give way to our right to know Buhari’s health status as citizens.
“We really need to assess the physical or mental ability of the President of Nigeria to perform the functions of the office.
“Citizens can collectively lobby for an Independent Panel to help us make the critical medical determination of the mental and bodily state of our President Buhari.
“Conditions in Nigeria have become too dire for all of us to sit still and watch a train wreck unfold.
“As an extremely concerned citizen, I hereby demand a Medical Panel in Buhari as we obviously cannot rely on the House Doctor to provide us with accurate information. “
Ezekwesili stressed that a physical and mental evaluation is important as Nigerians need a full disclosure before the situation in the country worsens.
“It is a reasonable demand now that citizens have full disclosure on Buhari’s health status,” Ezekwesili tweeted.
