Brigadier General AI Taiwo, 81st Commander of the Military Intelligence Brigade, has explained why the military initially denied their personnel involved in the October 20 shooting at the Lekki tollbooth.
Recall that shortly after the incident of October 20, the Nigerian Army through its Twitter account, denied the participation of its officers.
Testifying before the Lagos State judicial panel this afternoon, Taiwo said the military initially denied it because they did not have the fact available.
“The first statement was born from the fact that we did not have the facts available and the second was because no one was sent to the Lekki tollgate to dissolve any protests,” he said.
