The director general of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief George Moghalu, has explained why he is considering the post of Governor of Anambra State in 2021.
Moghalu, who is contesting the exalted position under the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform, said he had already been blessed by God to correct certain anomalies in the government.
Speaking during a visit by executives from one of his support group, Georgy Like Minds at his country home in Nnewi, Anambra, Moghalu assured that God had cleared his way to Government House which, according to him, could not be interrupted by no man.
He promised the group his support, saying that their willingness to work with him made them stakeholders in the project.
Moghalu, who was a candidate in the last elections for governor in the state, said that this time he is convinced of victory.
He said: “I will win the primaries and the election proper without scruples. You are here because you believe in me. I assure you that I will never let you down.
“The work is about to begin. We even have support outside the party. All my support groups are working towards one goal. He has a great job to do, including preaching to people who have not yet been converted.
“I don’t believe in mere word of mouth. It has to be backed by concerted and genuine efforts, we want quality fans. Power is not given, but is fought for “.
The group’s state coordinator, Ven. Chris Orajekwe said that all arrangements had been in place to start house-to-house awareness in the 21 local government areas to ensure that nothing was left to chance towards the safe journey from Moghalu to Government House.
Orajekwe, a former stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, said the group had resolved to ensure that Moghalu became governor of Anambra state by all possible legitimate means regardless of the odds.
