The governor of the state of Niger, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has advocated for a presidency in the south in 2023, saying there will be job rotation in 2023.
According to him, “those assigned to the North would move to the South while those from the South would move to the North in 2023.”
Governor Bello revealed this in Minna on Tuesday when he hosted the APC North Center Stakeholders Forum on a promotional visit.
He also said that the North Central Governors Forum has agreed that the position of the National President of the Congress of All Progressives (APC) should be from zone to north center.
“As president of the North Central Governors Forum, I have called a meeting of governors and we agreed that we should not be left out. There are many applicants from the Northwest and Northeast ”.
He said: “Yes, we have already talked about going to the position of national president, but it is not for me to say who would make it or not.”
He explained that if the position is finally assigned to the area, the governors would meet with the interested parties to decide the best candidate to fill it.
He argued that in recent years, the area has not been favored in National positions despite having the highest votes in the elections.
Speaking earlier, Forum coordinator Dominic Alancha requested support for the candidacy of former Nasarawa state governor Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura for the party’s national presidency.
