Nigerian girl commits suicide in Warri after her older sister beat her for having a boyfriend.
A teenage girl reportedly committed suicide in Warri, Delta State, after being beaten for having a boyfriend.
According to residents of the Warri Main Garage in the state of Warri Delta, the 13-year-old girl lived with an older sister, who is also not identified and had beaten her for having a boyfriend.
Upset by the sister’s action, the deceased took an insecticide and ended up dead behind a Total service station near Warri’s main garage.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday May 16, 2020.
Here’s what one resident said about the tragic story;
“It’s a shame. The girl was seen by her older sister with a man and beat her for having a male lover at her age. She entered and committed suicide by drinking Angle 90 (insecticide).
“She is too young to have a lover. Don’t look at her body, she’s a little girl. They should dump her body, there is no need to bury her.
“The inhabitants of the area are angry because we all know her as a child, we do not know her name but we used to see her there.”
